Can you really change a male voice to female and vice versa?

Biologically, no. Technically speaking sort of. Everyone's voice is different so when using a voice changer results are different as well. A voice changer increases or decreases the pitch of your voice by one or two octaves while maintaining a realistic sounding result. Voice changers can be very efficient for disguising your voice even when you use them around people who know you well. With a little practice, most users can find two or three settings on a audio changer that can produce astounding results. Of course, the more options the voice changer ovvers, the better results and the more "voices" you can use. 

However, for a typical male voice to sound like a typical female voice or vice versa, you must change the voice by several octaves. This usually results in a voice sounding like Mickey Mouse or Darth Vader. The same applies to a child to adult sound and adult to child sound. On the other hand, some customers have reported good results in "gender" changing. We believe this to be rare exceptions to the rule, however.
