THE PROTRAK GPS USES:
Security Services - Fleet Management - Insurance Companies - Law Enforcement - Rental Vehicles - Critical Cargoes - Personal Vehicles PROTRAK GPS is a vehicle tracking system which uses Global Positioning Satellites (GPS). The GPS satellite signals are continuously broadcast from an orbit of 20,000 miles and PROTRAK GPS receives those signals to calculate its location. The longitude, latitude, Unit ID and other GPS information is transmitted via an AMPS cellular modem to a your computer or control center for display on a regional map. 
Pictured clockwise: (A) Battery pack (B) Cellular Antenna, (C) GPS Puck Antenna, Vehicle Unit, and (D) unit The PROTRAK GPS consists of a GPS Receiver and Cellular Modem, which are fastened to the target. A GPS "Puck" antenna attaches with a magnet to the underside of the bumper cover and a miniature magnet mount cellular antenna fastens to the frame.
Power is supplied by a direct connect to vehicle power or by a field replaceable battery pack which will power the system for approximately 5 days.
Since many surveillance operations last a week or more, the replaceable battery pack contains 8 "D" alkaline cells, which are easily replaced. In order to conserve power, the vehicle unit can be programmed to "go to sleep" and only awake when the control center calls. If vehicle battery power is used, the unit can be programmed to stay awake at all times. You can continuously track the vehicle if needed. PROTRAK GPS System Features: GPS vehicle tracking over the cellular telephone network. Automatic or manual activation and dial-out to anywhere. Dial-in mode for vehicle tracking and control. Fully integrated single vendor software/hardware system. Automatic display of vehicles on an easy-to-read map. No infrastructure-- just a PC and base station modem.

Note: Customer must supply a Pentium PC running Win 95, WIN 98 or WIN ME with CD-ROM, 64 MEG memory and hard drive space. A phone line is required as well as a AMPS Cellular Activation. Vehicle Unit Size - 1.1" x 5.2" x 7.0" Weight - 20 oz. Enclosure - Extruded Aluminum 
The target location is transmitted via AMPS cellular contact and received at the monitoring computer through a modem. Location can be displayed on digital maps with GPS co-ordinates and tracking accomplished (shown at bottom) each time the equipment updates (every 6 seconds). Locations can be displayed several levels from national to street level. 
Note: Protrak GPS tracking function depends on local AMP cellular coverage (# and density of local AMP towers) and GPS visibility in sky. GPS visibility may be blocked between tall buildings, or by land features.
Covert Applications:
The ProTrak 2000 is currently the smallest real time tracker available. Your purchase even includes a portable battery pack if access to the vehicles 12-volt source is not convenient. You can install this system on a vehicle within a few minutes. Battery life is about 5 days and additional battery packs are available.
This system also features a convenient cable to wire directly into the vehicles 12-volt source if battery operation is undesirable. Both the GPS tracking unit and the battery pack include "over rated" magnet mounts for exterior vehicle mounting.
Fleet Management:
Each unit is shipped with base station and unit software. The standard software package allows simultaneous monitoring of up to 10 vehicles. Additional software is available for those requiring more than 10 vehicle real time monitoring.

Installation:
Top and Bottom View Of The ProTrak 2000 Notice the convenient magnet assemblies on the bottom view of the ProTrak 2000. For those installations where access to the vehicles interior is not practical, simply use the magnets. Most bumper assemblies have metal hidden underneath the plastic molded cover.
Most buyers install this unit under a seat, under the dash, or in the trunk. The antenna need not be exposed. The system will see through plastic, Fiberglass, and dashboard foam. You can even place the antenna "puck" inside one of the air conditioning vents with good, reliable tracking results. 
?Included? Battery Pack Next, either wire the unit with the included cable to your vehicles 12 volt source. If this is not practical, simply attach the included battery pack shown above.
Software:
Your ProTrak 2000 system comes with the latest GPS and mapping software. This is currently the best and most user friendly package out there. Simply insert the included CD and follow the on screen instructions. It's that easy.
Our software is for the U.S. market only, all 50 states. We do not ship to Canada or other International markets. There are no software licensing fees and this software provides true street level detail. Speed of vehicle, exact location, Direction, what more can we ask for?
Monthly Cell Phone Charges:
Probably the best news of all!!
The other models being sold elsewhere force you to use their service. Rates vary from $40.00 to a whopping $300.00 monthly with their services. NOT THE PROTRAK 2000.
The ProTrak has a "built in" Digital QualComm cellular phone. Simply take the ProTrak to your present cell phone provider and they treat the unit as a simple cell phone. Rates can be as low as $14.00 per month. The good news is, YOU determine and SAVE because you are relying on yourself and your carrier and not the tracking companies rates.

We sell a lot of trackers; we receive calls all the time from frustrated customers that have purchased a vehicle tracker from companies that require you to use their in-house web service.
